Independent business development · Preclinical & bioanalytical
The right leads for CROs. The right partners for your lead.
I'm Adam Rauch. I help preclinical and bioanalytical CROs turn more conversations into signed SOWs, and I help emerging biotechs get the right studies run, then put the data in front of the partners and investors who fit.
- Since 2020in CRO business development
- Hundreds of SOWsand quotes written in the past 12 months
- In vivo + bioanalyticalpreclinical and CAP/CLIA lab services

Three ways I work
Pick your side of the study
Fractional business development
More signed SOWs without a full-time BD hire. I build your new-logo pipeline and fix the quoting step where most deals stall.
- New-logo pipeline
- Quote and SOW standards
- Scientific content
- CRO partnerships
Partnering and investors
The pharma, biotech and investor targets that fit your program, and a data package that answers diligence before it starts.
- Partner targeting
- Licensing and collaborations
- Investor readiness
- Data room
Study scoping and CRO sourcing
Studies scoped so CROs can quote them right the first time, a shortlist of CROs that run your model, and quotes read line by line.
- Study scoping
- CRO shortlist and RFP
- Quote review
- IND sequencing
Where CRO revenue leaks
Most deals don't die at the first call. They stall at the quote.
Lead generation gets a CRO into the conversation. What happens next decides the revenue: how fast the quote goes out, whether it matches what the sponsor asked for, and whether anyone follows up.
-
Step 1
Inquiry
Common leakA slow first reply. The sponsor emailed three other CROs the same day.
-
Step 2
Scoping call
Common leakOpen questions on design, and no written summary afterward.
-
Step 3
Quote
Common leakTurnaround measured in weeks, with line items the sponsor can't compare.
Where I start -
Step 4
SOW
Common leakFigures that don't match the quote, and terms rebuilt from an old SOW.
-
Step 5
Follow-up
Common leakSilence while the sponsor's budget and legal review run.

For biotechs raising or partnering
Partners and investors diligence the data first
They price the next milestone, and they check whether the data behind it holds up: reproducible efficacy, exposure linked to effect, an early safety margin, a test article you can make again. I help you find the gaps before they do, then run the process with the targets that fit.
What diligence asks in week one
- A one-page target product profile
- Efficacy that reproduces, in a second model or independent repeats
- Exposure (PK) measured in efficacy studies and linked to effect
- An early safety margin from dose-range finding
- The next value-inflection milestone, its cost and its date
- A ranked list of partners or investors, and why each fits
The Quote-Ready Checklist
The 52 questions a preclinical CRO needs answered before it can quote your study, in the order a CRO builds the quote. Send it with your next RFP and you'll get quotes you can compare.
C. Test system and group design
- Species and strain, with justification if needed
- Sex, and age or weight at study start
- Number of groups and what each group receives
- Animals per group, including recovery and satellite (TK) animals
- Special model requirements: disease induction, surgery, cannulation
- Acclimation period
